Love is stronger

February is filled with hearts. It is a time to think about love, all kinds of love. Our connection with those we love is an important part of our lives, even when we are far away, and even if they have died.  Death does not end our loving. Helping our children remember that they are connected to those they love and to a God who loves them can make this month of love more significant than candy conversation hearts. Take some time to talk about who is connected by the invisible string of love.

The Invisible String by Parrice Karst

Activity

A long distance hug- https://thepartyevent.wordpress.com/2012/02/05/valentines-crafts-for-kids-a-long-distance-hug-a-beautiful-present-for-someone-special-diy/?ref=pcrorganicgglunkwn&prid=pcseogglunkwn
Trace hands and cut out
Attach with a ribbon the length of your child’s arms outstretched
Add hearts and drawings
Mail or give to someone they love.
Make a long distance hug for God as well. You can take it to church or a place that has spiritual significance.
(note if you have someone in your family who has died, your child may want to make one for them. Find a place to take the hug that is significant to the person and your child. )

Prayer

Dear God,
Thank you for loving me.
Thank you for the people I love especially __________________
Thank you for the people who love me____________________
I love you God. Amen

Say the Lord’s Prayer
