Growing Faith from Seeds

For the youngest children, their connection with God is all about taking it in. These children are learning language, and the language of faith is an important part of that. The stories of the faith provide the ABC’s that will enable them to grow and explore their relationship with God.

In addition to the Bible stories their faith is all about experiences, and enhancing those experiences will deepen connection to God. The wonder of a snowflake, the bounce of a musical rhythm, cuddling in a parent’s arms, light through stained glass, all find their way into the spiritual life of the youngest children. Those experiences at home, or church, or playing in the yard, can fill them up with positive images of what it means to be a Christian.

As Children grow their understanding and experience of God expands. As we participate in our child’s growing connection with God we may often find it both challenges and revives our own life in Christ. Over the years I’ve found many wonderful resources to help make that connection to God-in-Christ part of the daily lives of families.
