All God’s Critters

Sometimes is hard to find our place in the world. This month’s book and song are a wonderful reminder that there is a place for us all. Singing, no matter what kind of voice you may have, is a wonderful way to spend time as a family. On car trips, while doing the dishes or at bath time, find a time to share songs with your child. You can share a song you know, make up new words to a tune you already know or learn something new. Whatever you do those tunes and words will stay with your child all the rest of their lives.

Book
All God’s Critters Got A Place in the Choir by Bill Staines

Activity
As you learn the song together have your child make the sounds the animal makes. For slightly older children you may want to talk about how important each animal is even though they are all very different, just as each person is important even though they are all different.

Prayer
Thank you God for all the many different animals.
Thank you for the ……. And the……
Thank you for all the different people and all they do,
Especially……
Amen.
